When Donald Trump spoke about 2nd amendment methods to deal with Hillary Clinton I thought this would be fodder for a long time with media coverage. I thought they’d never let up. I was wrong. I have since realized that the media can only keep the appearance of holding Trumps feet to the fire for so long. Otherwise they may do irreversible harm to their hand picked candidate, Donald J. Trump.
First they assisted Trump in beating an entire GOP field of candidates. They gave him access to so much free media. Early on they realized that although Trump is a danger to our country they were willing to prop him up for the sake of ratings and profits. His opponents spent hundreds of millions against him but that was dwarfed by the media giving Trump about 2 Billion in free media. There was no other GOP candidate that was able to compete against that media onslaught.
The media also used sleight of hand to make it seem as they were holding him accountable but quickly moved on from his repeated controversies Trump himself would create. They did the standard criticize, create false equivalence, then move on to point out his competitors flaws more than anything else. They did this for months until one by one all opposition against Trump was eliminated. It worked, record ratings and profits among the various media networks. They and Trump prosper, while the nation moves closer to possibly electing a racist fascist to the presidency of the most powerful nation on the planet. Ironically a fascist type whose message is “Make America Great Again”. Lets talk a bit about that.
Since the medias succeeded in vanquishing all opposition in the GOP against Trump, they now set their focus on a new target, Hillary Clinton. They had already been attacking her by assisting in baseless accusations regarding Benghazi, finding e-mails and creating controversy with the charity Clinton foundation. They were keeping these fake controversies alive in waiting until it was time to pounce on her. Now that the general election is on they keep discussing e-mails, foundation etc in the news cycles. Trump makes a statement detailing how 2nd amendment types could deal (Kill) Hillary. The media head fakes for a few days and go right back to the e-mails. Why you ask? Because Hillary and more importantly a large part of the US citizenry are fighting back against the medias attempt at propping up Trump and bringing down Hillary is facing problems. People are not as dumb as the media thinks, Hillary is actually winning in spite of the media narrative that she is not trustworthy. The polls are not going according to the medias plans. So now they are in panic mode and there is not a day that goes by without the media pushing against Hillary teaming up with the Trump camp and blatantly attacking Hillary.
Minorities and thinking people are today the firewall keeping the racist fascist at bay. Only this firewall is what stands between the destruction that Trump can cause if elected. Trump is not the actual adversary, he alone could be easily dispatched by Hillary and her coalition of free thinking people. But the actual enemy is the corporate media pushing the horse-race for ratings and profits in spite of the harm they are doing to our democracy. The firewall is being pushed to its limits. All weaknesses are being probed by the insidious media. We are the champions of freedom. We are engaged in a battle against the corporate media that have normalized what should not be able to be normalized, Donald J. Trump. We are in a pitched battle against false equivalency, they dare compare Trump to Clinton. Clinton may have her flaws but In this writers opinion Clinton is a saint compared to Trump. Yet the media is all in on this, regardless of the harm that will be caused to the average citizen if this evil person Trump becomes president. They can survive it, most of them are wealthy and or rich. The average citizen will suffer.
When Trump says “Make America Great Again”. Great for who? Why does the anti Trump firewall stand against this? Because they know when he says his catch phrase not all were prospering in this fantasy time in the past. Blacks, Hispanics, and other minorities had to deal with Jim Crow, structural racism and a society that treated them as second class citizens. They have no nostalgia for these days gone by. It is a dog whistle to people who preferred segregation. Who preferred keeping minorities down. This is why we struggle against going back, we push to move forward. To create progress for all, not to return to some long gone time in the past where inequality ruled. We want to go forward to a time where all persons are not just equal in rhetoric, but equal in practice. A society where everyone is color blind and all are actually equal. This is why the firewall against Trump exists. But this firewall is under attack, we must redouble our efforts because Trump and his corporate media allies are in attack mode. They are doing everything they can to bring us and our candidates to heel. We must stay vigilant and stand strong against this fascist dictator wanna be and his propaganda arm, the corporate media. Stay strong brothers and sisters, never give up, never surrender.
